Privacy Policy — Q It

Last updated: June 15, 2026

Q It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. Everything happens locally on your device. There are no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no accounts.

What data Q It handles

Stored locally on your device only (via Chrome's chrome.storage.local): the context you provide (pasted text, attached file contents, selected page text); your questions and the AI's answers for the current session; and your preferences (theme, dark mode, feature toggles). This never leaves your device.

How the AI works

Q It uses Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano model, which runs entirely on-device. No prompts, context, or answers are sent over the network.

Network access

Q It makes no network requests for its core functionality. The only external resource loaded is the Google Sans font (for styling). No personal data is included in that request.

Permissions

  • storage — save context and preferences locally.
  • clipboardWrite — copy answers on click.
  • contextMenus — right-click "Add to context" / "Use as question".
  • host access — read selected text and offer autofill on pages. Used locally, never to transmit data.

Data retention & deletion

All data is local and under your control. Delete it via the in-app controls or by removing the extension, which deletes all local data.
